I don’t have breast cancer but my stepmom battles cancer last year & won! I’m so proud of her she is back at everything church, the gym, girltime. Not sure if she has these intrusive thoughts but I have had 5 surgeries in 10yrs (each on leaves me feeling fragmented & contributes to my constant body discomfort) & just really relate to much of this content. Thanks for spreading awareness about how medical treatments/traumas affect such.

Thank you so much for sharing this. Congratulations to your stepmom, it sounds like she’s fully back to living her life, and your pride in her really comes through. And thank you for telling us about your own experience too. Five surgeries in ten years is a lot for one body to carry, and that sense of feeling fragmented afterward is something we hear from so many people, whatever the diagnosis. You don’t have to have cancer for this to resonate. We’re really glad the piece spoke to you.
